10.02.2011/100/XNUMX on the basis of the PBC Experimental Station in Doktorovo, the first technology workshop on potatoes was held. This event brought together more than XNUMX specialists who want to gain new knowledge in the field of potato growing.
Among the participants the workshop was attended by representatives of LLC "Maxim Gorky" (3300 hectares under potatoes), LLC "Fruchtring" (2300 hectares under potatoes), LLC "Agrofirma-Annenskoye" (1500 hectares under potatoes), LLC "Moscow-on-Don" (1150 hectares under potatoes), McCain Agriculture (Rus) LLC, Frito Lay Manufacturing LLC and many others. Among the speakers with the presentations were both representatives of the Van Rhine-KVS company and invited guests: the participants of the Center for Agrarian Competencies - the Grimme company and the Bayer Crop Science company, a specialist in potato diseases at the All-Russian Research Institute of Phytopathology of the Russian Federation.
A lively interest of the audience was aroused by the presentation of representatives of the central office of Van Rhine-KBC (Holland) Jan Meinher and Jan Aalberts, revealing the company's methods of work and the peculiarities of agricultural technology for growing potatoes of the varieties Ramos, Labadia and Santana. At this stage, KVS RUS LLC offers these varieties for sale on the Russian market.
The presentation of the Manager for the Development of Potato Business at FAC Ukraine Victor Reznik caused the greatest number of additional questions, as the topic of mineral nutrition of potatoes was touched upon in the light of its influence on the quality of the final product. A comparative assessment of different methods of irrigation of potatoes was carried out using intensive cultivation technology. The idea of the economic efficiency of using high-quality seeds, plant protection products and fertilizers is given.
Oleg Tarasenko, manager for the production of seed potatoes of KVS Ukraine, spoke about the peculiarities of storing seed and industrial potatoes from the first days of harvesting to selling to the consumer or planting seeds in the field.
I would especially like to note the speech of the representative of the All-Russian Research Institute of Plant Pathology Aleksey Vasilyevich Filippov. The presentation on potato diseases and methods of preventing and combating them contained economic estimates on the use of certain protective equipment and gave the audience an instrument through which it is possible to make the right choice of the drug depending on the phase and concentration of the diseases in the field or in the warehouse.
Representatives of Bayer Crop Science spoke about the latest plant protection products market and future prospects.
The company Grimme, with a full set of available equipment to ensure the technological chain in the potato industry, was introduced by Alexander Bisper. His presentation gave the seminar a finished look, focusing on the correct selection of equipment for the specific growing conditions and production capacities of the economy. A separate part of the seminar program was a lunch with tasting of Ramos potatoes, which leads in taste among the Van Rhine-KVS varieties.
It is safe to say that the “first pancake” was successful, the guests were satisfied, learned something new in matters of potato growing technology and established new friendly contacts. The seminar was the first, but the continuation will certainly be ... in the summer of 2011.
The guests indicated the desired topics for future seminars in their profiles. We will certainly take into account all the wishes and try to please the potato growers again. We are near you! We work for you!
