In the Northern Hemisphere of the Earth, the average summer temperature has exceeded the norm almost everywhere. On the continents, the only exception is India, where the clouds of the raging monsoon do not allow the sun to warm the earth, and partly the territory in the east of Russia.
In North America, North Africa, the Near and Middle East, in some regions of China, in most of Europe and partly in Russia, the average seasonal temperature anomalies are + 2 ... 3 ° and more. But the largest anomalies were formed in the Arctic. In the Russian sector, they exceeded + 3-5 °, and in the Canadian sector, + 3-4 °. In the Arctic, the past summer was the warmest in the history of meteorological observations. In the USA and Canada, its average temperature is in the top three highest values. For the hemisphere as a whole, the average summer temperature of 2020 reached an absolute maximum, exceeding the previous record in 2016.
In Russia, it was the 4th warmest summer in the meteorological chronicle since 1891. Summer 2016, 2010 and 2012 only she was even bigger. But the distribution of positive anomalies across the country is uneven. If in the Asian part the anomalies exceed + 2 ... 5 °, and here summer has become the third warmest in history, in the European territory the anomalies are + 3-1 °, and in some areas of the Volga and in the south of the North-Western Federal Districts they are close to zero, i.e. the temperature was approximately normal. Colder than usual last summer in the east of the country in the Khabarovsk Territory, Amur Region. and partly on Sakhalin.
