Due to the deteriorating situation with the pandemic and the current official rules, the conditions for holding the world's leading exhibition of agricultural machinery are no longer met - The next exhibition "Agrotechnica" will be held from 12 to 18 November 2023
(DLG). Agricultural technology in 2022 will not take place. Due to the current national and global developments in relation to the corona pandemic, the rapid increase in the number of cases worldwide and associated travel restrictions, as well as official regulations, DLG (German Agricultural Society) as organizer, the Agricultural Machinery Association VDMA and Agritechnica's Exhibitor Advisory Board jointly concluded that the conditions required for the world's leading agricultural machinery exhibition were no longer met. The health and safety of visitors, exhibitors, partners, exhibitors and staff are top priorities in this situation. The next Agrotechnics exhibition will take place from 12 to 18 November 2023 in Hannover, Germany.
Agrotechnics in the spring of 2022 was supposed to become an international platform for agriculture and agribusiness. Professional exchange, networking and innovation had to be in the spotlight and provide the necessary impetus for sustainable agriculture. Both the exhibition and the technical program have already been published and aroused great interest among visitors to the world's leading trade fair.
“We noted with regret that after the deterioration of the situation with the pandemic in recent weeks and the resulting official rules in force, a justified exceptional situation has arisen in which the uninterrupted execution of Agritechnica is no longer possible. Together with the Agricultural Machinery Association VDMA and the Exhibitor Advisory Council of the exhibition, as well as after numerous discussions with both exhibitors and visitors, we decided to cancel the Agrotechnica exhibition next year. We made this decision while respecting our responsibility for the health and safety of all. We deeply regret the cancellation. Many of our exhibitors, partners, visitors and exhibitors, as well as the entire DLG team, have already invested in extensive training. We are now focusing on the preparation of Agrotechnics 2023, as well as other national and international DLG events and exhibitions that are planned for next year, ”said Dr. Reinhard Grancke, CEO of DLG.
“We all deeply regret that Agrotechnology 2022 still cannot take place - on the one hand, because the entire industry was already looking forward to its 'leading trade show', and on the other hand, because farmers can now benefit from from the many impulses of innovation in agricultural technology that have rarely been seen before. After all, innovative machinery, equipment and software make a significant contribution to sustainable and future-proof agricultural machinery manufacturing processes. The ability to present our broad portfolio of innovations to a broad industry audience live on the international stage is and remains the gold standard. This is why we, as experts in agricultural technology, support our leading global trade fair and are already looking forward to the successful restart of Agrotechnica in Hanover in 2023, ”says Dr. Bernd Scherer, Managing Director of the VDMA Agricultural Machinery Association.
Agrotechnica Innovation Award Winners Announced
“The decision to cancel Agrotechnica is particularly difficult for us as many companies have specifically targeted the exhibition to showcase their innovations,” said Freya von Chettritz, project manager for Agrotechnica.
“Despite the fact that Agrotechnica will not be able to take place in Hanover next year as planned, it still provides an opportunity to focus on innovation in the agricultural engineering industry. That is why, as planned, we have announced the winners of the International Agricultural Technology Leading Innovation Award. We thank the DLG Innovation Commission for awarding us one gold and 16 silver medals for exceptional innovation. Our award-winning innovations are published at www.agritechnica.com/innovation-award-winners... DLG will officially unveil next year's winners' awards.
Digital add-on remains available
The optional digital add-on to Agrotechnica, which was launched in November 2021, will continue to be available as planned on the DLG-Connect digital platform (www.dlg-connect.com) by the end of March 2022. Visitors to the platform have the opportunity to view current offers and information from agricultural machinery manufacturers for free, as well as take part in digital events and chat with companies and farmers.
