In 2018, there was a slight decrease in imports seed potatoes to Russia... It stood at 13 606,7 tons, which is 13,5% (2 128,9 tons) less than in 2017. Over 5 years, supplies decreased by 45,1% (by 11 tons), over 192,9 years - by 10% (by 25,9 tons).
In 2018, Germany and the Netherlands were the largest suppliers of seed potatoes to Russia. The share of these countries in total imports was 43,9% and 38,3%, respectively.
In 2018, the products of 22 manufacturers were presented on the Russian market. Import was carried out by more than 20 Russian importing firms (including both representative offices of foreign seed companies and Russian farms).
Trends for January-March 2019. In January-March 2019, 3 tons of seed potatoes were imported to Russia, which is 162,5% (22,4 tons) less than in the same period in 911,6.
The main volume of imports of seed potatoes in January-March 2019 fell on the Netherlands - 70,2% of all supplies.
Also, the import was carried out from Finland - 13,9%, Germany - 12,6%, Belarus - 3,2%, France - 0,1%.
Export of seed potatoes from Russia
In 2018, the export of seed potatoes from Russia increased significantly and reached record levels, at least since 2001. The volume, taking into account the import into the countries of the EAEU Customs Union, was at the level of 38 041,0 tons, which is 84,4% (17 413,9 tons) more than in 2017.
In 2018, the main direction of Russian export of seed potatoes was Azerbaijan (77,1% of all volumes), Uzbekistan (18,8%) and Kazakhstan (3,9%).
In 2018, products from 21 manufacturers were exported from Russia. The milking TOP-10 accounted for 97,0% of all supplies.
Trends for January-March 2019. In January-March 2019, export deliveries were at the level of 3 tons. Compared to the same period in 859,5, exports grew by 2018% (by 384,3 tons).
The key destinations for Russian seed potato exports in January-March 2019 were Azerbaijan (share in total exports - 78,6%), Kazakhstan (19,3%) and Turkmenistan (2,1%).
