Promotion of investment projects in the agro-industrial complex, integrated development of territories, improving the quality of life of people - these and other issues were considered during the working trip of the Governor of the Volgograd Region, Andrey Bocharov, to the Nikolaevsky district. The head of the region paid special attention to land reclamation, visiting irrigated areas for growing corn and soybeans in demand in the domestic and export markets.
Andrey Bocharov examined new land reclamation facilities created with state support. So, in the Ochkurovsky rural settlement, the Vostok agricultural company has been implementing an investment project for the reconstruction and construction of irrigated areas since 2018. 3,8 thousand hectares have already been commissioned, more than 425 million rubles have been invested. In 2020, it is planned to introduce another thousand hectares in the Levchunovskoye rural settlement, next to build almost 650 hectares.
Silage and grain corn is already being cultivated on irrigated fields, which is the basis of the fodder base for the poultry farm, which is part of the Vostok agricultural company. Today, the height of plants, which are entirely used for animal feed, already reaches 4,5-5 meters, the yield of crops has increased almost three times.
In the Leninsky rural settlement, soybeans are grown on new irrigated plots - the farmers of Leader LLC are planning to expand export supplies of this crop, which needs irrigation in the arid conditions of the Trans-Volga region. It is no coincidence that a part of the irrigated areas in the Volgograd region is created within the framework of the regional project “Export of agricultural products” of the national project “International cooperation and export”.
Reconstruction of reclamation systems in the fields of the Leader has been carried out since 2014. During this time, land plots with a total area of 3,7 thousand hectares were commissioned, 366 million rubles were invested. This year it is planned to commission another 1320 hectares of irrigated land here, the cost of the facilities is 235 million rubles. The enterprise grows winter and spring wheat, barley, corn, soybeans, safflower, mustard, potatoes and onions. In addition, LLC "Leader" is engaged in animal husbandry, producing milk and dairy products, cattle meat, which is sold not only in the Nikolaev area, but also outside it.
“We have been implementing a state program for the development of land reclamation on the territory of the Volgograd Region for six years, which gives a very serious result. In the Volga region there are some of the driest regions, where there is little rainfall, where conditions are difficult and high temperatures. But modern irrigation technologies, the use of natural fertilizers, coupled with painstaking work, give impressive results. This is an answer to all those who believed that there was no need to engage in land reclamation, the head of the region recalled that in 2014, the Volgograd Region, with the support of the President of the Russian Federation, became a pilot region for the implementation of a profile program. "We will continue this work: land reclamation is the basis for the development of agriculture."
In addition, the region is working on the issue of reducing electricity tariffs for those who use irrigation in agricultural production - initiatives have already reached the federal level.
It should be noted that the development of irrigation in the Trans-Volga region is made possible by comprehensive work on the modernization of infrastructure: over the past few years, pumping stations on a large irrigation canal have been replaced - additional capacities make it possible to systematically increase irrigation fields, attract new investors and manufacturers.
An important aspect is state support: today they compensate for up to 70% of the costs of construction or reconstruction of facilities. As a result, the reclamation areas in the Volgograd region have almost doubled since 2014 - to 58,5 thousand hectares. In 2020, the region plans to commission more than eight thousand hectares of irrigated fields, including 2,6 thousand under the national project.
Recall that at the meeting of the Council for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex, which was chaired by the Governor of the Volgograd Region Andrey Bocharov, guidelines for expanding the irrigated wedge were outlined. Today, work is underway in 10 municipal districts.
