Agroholding Belaya Dacha expects to begin test deliveries of french fries to McDonald's Russian restaurants in the first quarter of 2018. This was reported to RNS by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Directors of Belaya Dacha Viktor Semenov on the sidelines of the Atlanta Talk meeting on the eve of the Atlanta-2017 Russian Business Forum.
“In January - March (we will begin the first deliveries to McDonald's. - RNS). It will be hard to guess how the start-up and adjustment process will go, but I think that in January there will be the first pilot production, ”Semenov said, recalling that Belaya Dacha had previously signed a ten-year contract with McDonald's.
Currently, Belaya Dacha, together with the Dutch company Lamb Weston, is constructing a potato processing plant in the Lipetsk Region worth € 120 million and a capacity of 100 thousand tons of products per year.
Implementation of the project is on schedule, production will be launched in early 2018, notes Semenov. “In December, we plan to completely complete the construction and installation of all equipment, and in January we will carry out commissioning and commissioning,” he says.
The production capacity fully covers Russia's needs for the import of french fries, follows from the description of the Belaya Dacha project. According to Semenov, by the end of next year, the company will be able to fully meet the needs of Russian McDonald's restaurants in french fries. Burger King has also shown interest in localizing this product.
“I think that all networks will be interested in our products - I have no doubt about this. We will give them a decent price, and for them it will still be more profitable than taking from abroad and having currency risks, ”said Semenov.
