Sakhalin vegetable growers are warned of late blight. As reported on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Sakhalin Region with reference to the local branch of the Rosselkhoztsentr, late blight of potatoes is observed in the southern regions of the island region at the signal site.
Recall that late blight, late blight or brown rot is an extremely common disease of the nightshade culture, caused by the simplest fungus Phytophtora infestans. It multiplies very quickly, devouring up to 70% of the crop. This fungus is spread by zoospores, which can be found in infected soil, potato tubers, or vegetable storage.
Specialists of the department notify everyone involved in potato growing that it is necessary to urgently take measures to protect the planting of "second bread", using for this long time well-proven processing schemes.
The agronomic service of farms is recommended to pay attention to the fields occupied by potato plantings for more than 2 years. According to the specialists of the Russian Agricultural Center, the infectious background in such areas is higher than in those where crop rotation is observed. They advise Sakhalin farmers to protect potatoes with the biofungicide "Baktofit" before and when the first spots of late blight appear. In the future, it is recommended to use such medications as "Acrobat", "Infinito", "Ordan", "Poliram DF", "Kurzat" and others.
