That is why the government of the Stavropol Territory pays special attention to the restoration of irrigated agriculture, the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture reports.
Vladimir Sitnikov, First Deputy Chairman of the Krai Government, noted:
– Thanks to Governor Vladimir Vladimirov and the support of the federal center, the area of reclaimed land in the region has more than doubled over 8 years: from 34 hectares to 76 hectares. We managed to achieve powerful dynamics from 2019 to 2021, when the average volume of irrigation input reached 10 thousand hectares. annually.
Such results have made the region a leader in the development of land reclamation. And now it is important for us to maintain this pace. We understand that irrigated agriculture is a key growth point for the economy and prosperity of the region. Therefore, by 2025 we expect to bring the area of reclaimed land to 100 hectares.
At the same time, the potential of the water management complex in the Stavropol Territory makes it possible to provide much larger areas with water. And our task for the near future is to systematically develop it through the construction of new and modernization of existing land reclamation facilities in the region.
Further plans for work in this direction were discussed in Solnechnodolsk, at a visiting meeting of the Committee on Agrarian Issues of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, chaired by Vladimir Ivanovich Kashin.
