According to the portal I Latifundist.co, during January-March of this year, Ukraine imported 120,4 thousand tons of potatoes in the amount of $ 21,6 million, which is more than 12 times higher than the same period last year ($ 1,7 million).
This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
Such an increase in potato imports took place mainly at the expense of Belarus - in the first quarter of 2020, Ukraine purchased these products in the amount of $ 13,96 million, while for the same period last year - only $ 0,34 million. Thus, this country ranks first in terms of the volume of deliveries of potatoes in Ukraine with a share of 65%.
In second place, according to the data, was Russia with a share of 20,8%. The amount of expenses for the purchase of potatoes in this country in the I quarter of 2020 increased by $ 4,5 million compared to the same period last year.
The Netherlands took the third position in terms of potato supplies in Ukraine with a 6,3% share. Potatoes worth $ 1,36 million were imported into this country.
