In the Moscow region, the harvesting of open-field vegetables and potatoes is being completed - more than 70% of the area has already been harvested, reports official website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region.
“This year's figures are higher than last year's in all crops. By mid-October, 190 tons of open-ground vegetables were received, which is 14 tons more than in 2021. Potatoes are currently harvested from 75% of the area, its gross harvest has reached 280 thousand tons. This is 11 tons more than in 2021,” said Georgy Filimonov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region, who is in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
The yield of open ground vegetables was 323 kg/ha, which is 8% more than last year. Potato yield was 285 c/ha, which is 5% higher than last year.
In total, in 2022, farmers in the Moscow region planted potatoes on an area of 13,2 thousand hectares. The leaders in the collection now are: Agrofirma Bunyatino JSC, DGT LLC, Ozery JSC, Kulikovo CJSC, Agrofirma Sosnovka JSC.
