A low potato crop caused by drought will make it more expensive, experts warn. In most regions, production is expected to decline by at least 25%.
The Czech Potato Union warns of the impossibility of covering the shortage with export supplies, since drought has affected most of Europe.
As for potatoes, the Czech Republic is not a self-sufficient state. About 150 thousand tons of potatoes are imported into the country annually, primarily from Germany, France and the Netherlands.
