The Czech company, which produces potatoes in the south of the country, developed and then installed on its territory (on the door of the barn) a one-of-a-kind potato vending machine. Potato News Today.
As the director of the company Viktor Kopachka notes, everyone can put coins into the receiving device and buy fresh potatoes. The potato varieties available in the vending machine will change over time, depending on the season. Right now the machine is selling the Susan potato variety, but soon it will be replaced by the Magda variety, and then other varieties - those that will be harvested at that time on the farm.
“We are located near the Velgartice castle,” explains Viktor Kopachka. - Many tourists gather in the castle, so we consider the machine as an opportunity to advertise our varieties to them. We sell exclusively what we grow in our country. "
The potato vending machine has its own characteristics. First, people can only purchase two kilograms of potatoes at a time. When you get to the barn door, you can insert your money into the device and the potatoes will be emptied into your bag through a metal pipe. On the other side of the door is a scale that measures the desired weight of the potatoes.
Viktor Kopachka said that his company has been selling over 60 bags of potatoes per day since the installation of the vending machine. He believes the demand is high because people want to buy natural Czech products and local food.
He hopes customers will appreciate the taste of real Czech potatoes. After all, most of the potatoes sold in the stores of the country today are not actually grown in the Czech Republic.
