Potato Union took part in the Russian-Turkmen business forum, held on January 19-20, 2023 in Ashgabat.
Chairman of the Potato Union Sergey Lupekhin held a number of meetings as part of the business program of the forum, including with the Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan Allanur Altiyev, Deputy Minister Begmyrat Atayev, and representatives of business circles.
As a result of the discussions, an Agreement on cooperation on the establishment of a Potato Breeding and Seed Center was signed.
Recall that currently 40 hectares of potatoes are cultivated in Turkmenistan. Seed material is imported from Russia, European countries, Pakistan, Iran.
The Potato Union invites Russian companies interested in the development of the project (seed growers, manufacturers and suppliers of mineral fertilizers, agricultural machinery and equipment, including storage) to joint activities. The Union also asks companies that are ready to accept future employees of the Center for internships: agronomists, machine operators, storage specialists, etc.
