Currently, potato harvesting is underway in some areas of Dagestan. Experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan familiarized themselves with the harvesting process in the Kizilyurt district.
In recent years, in the village of Komsomolskoye, LLC “Agroprime” has been carrying out successful business activities.
Using drip irrigation technology on 135 hectares, potatoes, cabbage, onions, carrots and table beets are cultivated.
Today, the farm is harvesting potatoes, equipment is involved. It is necessary to harvest from an area of 50 hectares. According to the head of the enterprise, Haji Zalimkhanov, plantation yields are quite decent - on average 40-45 tons of potatoes are harvested per hectare. On the day of the arrival of specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Production of the Republic of Dagestan, part of the crop intended for the markets of the city of Kazan was loaded onto a heavy truck. During the harvesting period, 60-70 tons of potatoes are exported to the country's markets daily from local plantations.
Several dozens of people are involved in harvesting tubers.
Soon they will begin harvesting vegetable plantations, which were also laid in early March. Using modern water-saving technologies gives hope to collect 100 tons of cabbage, 40-45 tons of carrots, up to 80 tons of onions and 65-70 tons of beets from each hectare.
Gadzhi Zalimkhanov hails from the Akushinsky district, from those places where people acquire skills in vegetable growing and potato growing from early childhood. According to him, their family business of producing vegetables and potatoes has been going on for more than a dozen years, and in the last decade it has acquired serious proportions. The farm has a vegetable store. There are also 5 tractors, various sowing and harvesting equipment, more than a dozen heavy and light vehicles on the balance sheet. The plans for the coming years to expand the area under cultivation of potatoes and vegetables to 400-500 hectares.
Over the years, AgroPrime has gained wide economic and partnerships in various regions of the country, and based on these opportunities, farm experts provide significant assistance to their colleagues from different regions of Dagestan in the implementation of grown vegetables and potatoes.
According to Haji Zalimkhanov, the growing scale of economic activity makes us think about the benefits of agricultural consumer cooperation, especially under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Dagestan, substantial support is currently being provided for developing the material and technical base of SPOKs. It was decided to organize an agricultural consumer cooperative (with the involvement of individual entrepreneurs and farmers), which will be engaged in the sale of products grown by SPOK members both in the republic and in Moscow, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Omsk and other cities of our country. In addition, plans to expand the storage capacity of agricultural products - in the near future it is planned to begin construction of a vegetable store for 5 thousand tons.
