On May 16, in the People's Republic of China, in Shanghai, the opening of the international exhibition of food products and specialized equipment “SIAL China 2018” took place. This year, more than 70 countries are participating in it, representing 3500 unique exhibitors.
For the first time in the history of the exhibition, the united stand of the Russian Federation ranks second after the USA in terms of area (over 1300 sq. M.) And the number of participants. Among them are large companies (Miratorg, Cherkizovo, Rusbioalliance, Makfa, Solnechnye Produkty, United Confectioners, AKKOND, Baltika Brewery), which are already present on the Chinese market. as well as medium and small businesses operating in niche segments. The products of Russian wine producers attracted great attention of Asian visitors: Fanagoria, Zolotaya Balka, Villa Romanov.
The official opening ceremony of the stand of the Russian Federation was attended by the Consul of the Russian Federation in China Alexey Evsikov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Omsk Region Valery Boyko, Director of the Department of Information Policy and Special Projects of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia Dmitry Krasnov, director of export support for the agro-industrial complex of the Russian Export Center Ruslan Tsargush.
In his speech Dmitry Krasnov emphasized the importance of the participation of Russian companies in similar exhibition events in China - a priority export market for the country.
“This year we are seeing an exposition that we can really be proud of. Russia today faces an ambitious task - to achieve export volume of 45 billion US dollars. Moreover, the priority for us will be to increase exports of deep processing products, increase its value added. We have a lot of joint work ahead ”, - said Dmitry Krasnov.
Together with representatives of the Russian Export Center, the director of the Department of Information Policy and Special Projects held meetings with the heads of delegations of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the heads of exhibiting companies.
To study the issue of using e-commerce platforms as a tool for the development of Russian exports, a meeting was held with the leadership of the world's largest online trading platform Alibaba Group - commercial director Martin Wang and general manager for Russia Kelli Hsu. The parties discussed possible prospects and tracks for cooperation, as well as ways to support and promote Russian agricultural companies on the trading platform.
On the first day of the exhibition at the stand of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia there were presentations of four regions: Tomsk, Omsk, Smolensk regions and Altai Territory. Representatives of delegations outlined the export opportunities of regional enterprises and the priorities for the development of export-oriented infrastructure. This year, the Omsk region for the first time participated in an exhibition with a separate exposition representing the most promising products for the Chinese market: confectionery, flour and alcohol products.
On the second day of the exhibition, the Russian delegation is scheduled to participate in expert discussions on the legislative regulation of export supplies, as well as a series of meetings with representatives of Russian companies - potential exporters to the Chinese market.
