The board of the Eurasian Economic Commission established an anti-dumping duty on herbicides from the UK, representative of the ECE trade bloc Alexey Ashikhmin told BelTA.
“The EEC Board has supplemented the list of places of origin of herbicides, in respect of which the Eurasian Economic Union applies an anti-dumping duty, by the United Kingdom,” the EEC representative said. - The norms of the previous edition of the document applied only to the countries of the European Union.
The need for changes is due to the fact that by the decision of the EEC Board of May 29, 2018, an anti-dumping measure was introduced for chemicals imported from EU countries. At that time, Great Britain was a member of this association. However, on January 31, 2020, the country ceased its membership in the European Union.
According to the decision of the EEC Board of May 29, 2018, anti-dumping duties in the amount of 27,47% to 52,23% are applied to herbicides from the European Union. The measure is set for a period of 5 years and does not apply to manufacturers of herbicides under the trademarks BASF and Syngenta, who have assumed price obligations.
