The fast food chain Hesburger has signed an agreement with the Finnish green fuel company Neste.
Hesburger will start sending used cooking oil for recycling to produce safe diesel fuel. We are talking about 300 restaurants of the brand in Finland and the Baltic States, which annually produce up to 420 tons of fat. The company is expected to cut transportation greenhouse gas emissions by 90 percent.
In September, Hesburger and Neste conducted a survey that found that more than half (52%) of Finns find it most difficult to tackle climate change outside the home - for example, when going out to restaurants or when traveling.
To achieve results in this matter, it is necessary to unite, according to Neste. "Fighting climate change requires concrete action and close collaboration between companies."
Hesburger also believes their actions are important to their customers, as they can help people make more responsible decisions.
