This was announced at the All-Russian meeting on the development of the melioration complex of Russia in Stavropol, chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov.
The event was also attended by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Stavropol Territory Nikolai Velikdan, heads of agro-industrial complex management bodies and specialized scientific institutions.
According to Dzhambulat Khatuov, reclaimed land, occupying 8% of the arable land, today produces up to 70% of vegetables, melons, potatoes, all rice, 20% of animal feed and other products.
“At the final meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev identified the development of land reclamation as one of the main strategic issues. The global task is to return all reclamation lands into circulation, which is possible due to government support measures. For this, each region should have an approved development strategy for land reclamation, and in early September, each region will have to defend its projects at the site of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, ”said Dzhambulat Hatuov.
So, to support land improvement in 2019, 24,3 billion rubles are provided, which is 5,1 billion more than last year.
Starting this year, the development of land reclamation of agricultural lands will be carried out in two directions. This is the departmental program “Development of the land-reclamation complex of Russia” for the period 2019-2025, as a result of which, by 2026, crop production on reclaimed lands should increase by 117%, as well as the federal project “Export of agricultural products” for the period 2019-2024 , which provides for a substantial increase in production on reclaimed land by 2025 - in particular, by 2,3 million tons of grain and 1,3 million tons of soy. The Ministry of Agriculture will continue to improve measures of state support for the industry to increase its effectiveness.
