For the 2023 season, GRIMME is presenting the first 4-row trailed planter with a transport width of less than 3m and full EU type approval. In addition, the PRIOS 440 has not only introduced innovations, especially for the hitch and ridger, but also fully provided the prerequisites for using the developments in Precision and Smart Farming.
Various combination possibilities
With the aid of a gooseneck drawbar with an intermediate frame and a separate hoist, the planter can be combined with any active tillage implement (e.g. rotary harrow, cutter).
A separate lifting mechanism allows a quick change of different tillage implements. The depth control of the soil tillage implement is carried out independently of the planter, so that a constant planting depth is maintained.
New concept of depth guidance
Maintaining the depth of the fertilizer outlet discs, furrow openers, disc harrows, as well as the ridge forming device is carried out independently of each other. 4 gauge wheels at the front of the machine and 2 ultrasonic sensors in front of the ridge former register the working depth and thus ensure optimum depth guidance and even emergence.
Full compatibility with Section Control
To save production costs, the fertilizer applicator, tank equipment as well as the planters can be switched on independently of each other and on a per-row basis by switching the Section Controls (using the Multiboom single-row deactivation function). As a result, losses due to the introduction of nutrients into the environment are significantly reduced, especially when forming tramlines or when planting in wedge-shaped areas. By switching off the metering screw and the mixing shaft on the individual rows, spraying of the fertilizer in the tank is eliminated.
New innovative ridge former
In order to form a ridge with a smooth surface, hilling shells made of plastic (PE) can be combined with ridge top plates or grid rollers for a loose ridge surface. For the first time, ridge formation was implemented as a combination of ridge top plates and lattice rollers. The unique “Hybrid Ridder” of its kind creates a ridge with stable and smooth sidewalls as well as a porous ridge top surface. As a result, the advantages of a ridge former are combined with those of a lattice roller. The conversion and adjustment of the "hybrid ridge former" is possible in the field without the use of tools, allowing the ridge former to be flexibly adapted to soil conditions and customer requirements. To increase the absorption of moisture in the soil (water absorption capacity) and prevent soil erosion, the ridge former can be optionally equipped with the TerraProtect system.
Transport width on the road less than 3,00 m In many European countries, vehicles with a width of more than 3,00 m require a special road permit. As a rule, the transport width of 4-row planters with a row spacing of 75 cm is between 3 and 3,30 m. The PRIOS 440 with a row spacing of 75 cm is optionally equipped with two telescopic axles, making it possible for the first time to reduce the working width from 3,30, 3,00 m for a transport width of less than 440 m. The protruding working parts of the machine, such as guide plates, outer hilling bodies and track eradicators, slide along the contour of the machine. With full EU type approval, the PRIOS XNUMX can be transported on the road without a special permit, making it much easier to use on other farms or outside the country of use.
SmartView video system and connection to myGRIMME
The PRIOS 440 is comfortably steered via ISOBUS as standard. This can be done using the tractor's ISOBUS hand control or the CCI 800 or CCI 1200 ISOBUS hand control. SmartView with 12" touch screen, zoom, Live Slow Motion, real-time image transmission via Wi-Fi, Visual Protect PRO and the ability to record images provides a good overview of all machine functions. By connecting to myGRIMME, it is possible to exchange machine data and order data via agrirouter with Farm Management's own information system.
