Omsk oblast farms sowed spring crops on an area of 1,5 million hectares, or 55,9% of the plan, the press service of the regional government said.
“The farmers of the Omsk region are increasing the rate of sowing of spring crops every day, working around the clock,” the message says.
The main share of crops falls on grain and leguminous crops (spring wheat, barley, oats, buckwheat, peas, corn) - they are planted with 1,1 million hectares, which is 54,7% of the plan. Sowing of oilseeds (rapeseed, oil flax, soybeans, sunflower, camelina) was carried out on an area of 233,4 thousand hectares, or 74,5% of the plan.
The sown area of vegetables is 3,7 thousand ha (73,7%). Potatoes are planted on an area of 21 thousand ha (82,4%).
Annual grasses are sown on an area of 112,6 thousand ha (41,5%), silage grasses -17,7 thousand ha (43,5%).
The most active spring sowing is conducted by agrarians in Pavlograd, Tauride, Kalachinsky, Kormilovsky, Lubinsky, Maryanovsky, Nizhneomsky, Nazyvaevsky, Tyukalinsky and Sedelnikovsky districts.
