In the Kizilyurt district of the Republic of Dagestan, a fruit and vegetable storehouse with a capacity of 2 thousand tons was opened, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic reports.
The event was attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan Battal Battalov, the head of the city of Kizilyurt Magomed Magomedov, the deputy head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan Zurab Kuchchaev, the first deputy head of the Kizilyurt district Ramazan Ramazanov.
The new storage facility was built by the efforts of the SPOK "Biopolis" with the use of state support in the form of a grant for the development of the material and technical base of the agricultural consumer cooperative and is designed for a one-time storage of 2 thousand tons of vegetables and fruits. The advanced technologies used at the facility make it possible to ensure the safety of products for up to six months or more. A special remote control system analyzes the air temperature inside and outside the storage in real time, after which it automatically sets the optimal temperature regime.
At present, Biopolis SPOK unites about 200 agricultural enterprises and farms of the Kizilyurt District, which plan to place their products in a new storage facility this summer.
Battal Battalov, together with the leadership of the municipality, examined all 10 storage chambers.
According to Magomed Magomedov, the facility put into operation will provide storage for up to 70% of all products grown in the region. At the same time, he assured that the construction of storage facilities in the municipality would continue and thanked the authorities of Dagestan and investors for their support in this matter.
Battal Battalov recalled that currently there are storage facilities for more than 20 thousand tons of products in the republic. In the near future, the corresponding area will almost double.
“Today we have storage facilities with a total capacity of 20 tons, we are actively building new ones, and right now we are developing new projects, including for the construction of storage facilities with a controlled gas environment, which will ensure longer-term storage of products. We pay attention not only to vegetable stores, but also to stores of fruits, rice, meat. In the near future, we plan to provide storage for about 40 thousand tons of agricultural products. This is also not enough, but we continue to work actively. There are tasks set by the leadership of Dagestan to create powerful logistics centers in the north, in the central part and in the south of the republic,” the minister said.
He also drew attention to the fact that the issues of the development of the agro-industrial complex were raised the day before at the meeting of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the Head of the Republic of Dagestan Sergey Melikov.
“At the meeting, attention was paid to the development of the agro-industrial complex, which is very important for us. We will do everything to provide environmentally friendly products at affordable prices not only to our republic, but also to other regions of Russia,” Battal Battalov assured.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan added that the opening of another storage facility in the Tabasaran region is scheduled for the near future. Its construction is being completed ahead of schedule.
