In the "Success Story" section, the Internet portal of the "Potato System" magazine publishes stories about potato-growing enterprises in Russia, as well as near and far abroad, sent by our readers.
The farm was established in 2005 in the village of Zhuravlevka, Bulandy district, Akmola region. Main profile: growing grain and oilseeds.
In 2011, potatoes were added to the line of crops. Since that time, an average of 100-120 hectares have been allocated for it annually. We use planting, harvesting and warehouse equipment from GRIMME. The potatoes are grown on irrigation: circular irrigation machines are installed. The harvest is deposited and gradually delivered to the wholesale markets of the cities of Nur-Sultan and Shymkent.
“Potatoes in Kazakhstan are a popular crop, growing which you can get good profit,” says Alexander Matvienko, agronomist-manager of Zhuravlevka-1 LLP. - A necessary condition for this is a low production cost - within 18-20 tenge / kg (3-3,5 rubles / kg). We are working on it".
Since 2015, variety No. 1 for the farm has been a high-yielding and unpretentious Gala. The enterprise buys high reproductive seed material from the NORIKA company in Germany. This year Zhuravlevka-1 LLP expects to collect about 4500 tons of potatoes. An increase in planting areas and a renewal of varieties are planned for the next season.
