According to market experts, instant food will only gain momentum. This is especially true for potato products because the industry is upgrading traditional dishes. Curious potato exclusives will be offered to buyers, and here is one of them.
Organic packaging for potato chips is made from a material called Peel Saver. The material was created by Italian designers Simone Caronni, Paolo Stefano Gentile and Pietro Gaeli.
Peel Saver is made from starch and fiber components that, after maceration and natural staining, bind to each other and harden.
The team members developed this solution after they realized how much potato peel was produced, but wasted, with chips. Thus, the idea was born to use the material for storage of products from which they are made.
Simone Caronnie said: “Traditional street food packaging has a very short usage time, and it decomposes for quite some time. We offer an alternative to plastic or paper packaging that can be easily used as fertilizer for plants or even animal feed, rather than discarded. In addition, customers like that french fries are served in the same peel that originally contained and protected the potatoes, this is a good marketing move. ”
