In the Pskov region, the quarantine phytosanitary regime on the territory of personal subsidiary plots for potato nematodes was canceled. This was reported to the Pskov information agency in the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor Office in St. Petersburg, the Leningrad and Pskov regions.
The department noted that experts conducted quarantine phytosanitary surveys on the territory of personal subsidiary plots. They checked 12 land plots with an area of 1,98 hectares in the villages of Karamyshevo and Zubovo in the Pskov region, no nematode foci were identified.
Golden potato nematode is included in the list of pests, plant diseases and weeds that are of quarantine significance for the Russian Federation. With a severe defeat, the potato plant lags in growth, the tops turn yellow, the stems are lengthened, the lower leaves die off, the potatoes become small due to which the yield sharply decreases.
