The famous potatoes from the state of Idaho are today used not only for cooking various dishes, but for the production of skin care products, and at the same time helps a refugee from Azerbaijan find herself and realize her dreams. The story is told by Bill Schaefer in Farm & Ranch.
Leah Babayan came to the United States in 1992 with her family in refugee status from Azerbaijan. In 2016, she decided to open a business for the production of cosmetics and thought for a long time about which ingredients would help her create something special. One day, while listening to Beyoncé's album Lemonade, she suddenly thought: “Yes, life never gave me lemonade, but it gave me potatoes.”
Leah remembered that her grandmother used potatoes as a remedy for headache, fever and rash. “I conducted research on the various properties of potatoes and realized that this product can be called an ordinary miracle,” said Liya Babayan.
Inspired by the results, Leah created a cosmetic line of products with the addition of Idaho potatoes, which she called “Make Peace”. The line includes soap, skin lotion, lip balm, beard balm. The most popular product now is soap.
