According to EastFruit, this week Moldova и Ukraine continued to hold the lead in potato prices.
On the Moldovan market, prices reached their maximum limits of 40 cents per kg, and in Ukraine - 37 cents per kg. At the same time, low-quality products became cheaper in Moldova, and the minimum price for potatoes fell to 29 cents per kg. In Ukraine, it was possible to purchase potatoes, as a week earlier, also from 29 cents per kg.
As for carrots, in Moldova the prices for these products were among the highest in the project monitoring region, reaching 29 cents per kg in their maximum limits. Meanwhile, carrots in the Ukrainian market were offered at one of the lowest prices - an average of only 12 cents per kg. Even cheaper carrots were offered only in Central Asia.
Meanwhile, in the Central Asian region, carrots rose slightly in Uzbekistan and remained stable in price in Tajikistan. So, in the first market, local producers managed to raise prices to 9-12 cents per kg, and in Tajikistan, as before, carrots were offered at 9-11 cents per kg.
Unlike the carrot market, potatoes in Tajikistan rose in price, and by the end of the week prices reached 23-26 cents per kg. A similar range was recorded in Uzbekistan, and Russia remained the main supplier of these products to the local market.
In the very same of Russia the lowest prices for potatoes from all countries included in the regular monitoring of EastFruit remained. Domestic producers managed to sell their products at prices not exceeding 23 cents per kg. As for carrots, Russian farmers had to cut prices down to 11-23 cents per kg.
Fell and carrot prices in Poland, where at the end of the week it was possible to purchase these products at 13-17 cents per kg. Meanwhile, the situation on the Polish potato market remained relatively stable: prices for local products varied between 22-29 cents per kg, and potatoes imported from the Netherlands or Belgium offered 28-38 cents per kg.
Carrot segment in Belarus also did not change much during the current week (prices, as before, were 17-24 cents per kg), and in the local potato market there was a rather significant increase in prices, which as a result reached an average of 19 cents per kg.
