The XNUMXth Interregional Intellectual Forum "Innovation Potential - the Future of Russian Regions" was held in Syktyvkar. As part of the event, Pavel Konkin, a scientist of the Komi Scientific Center, was awarded a diploma of a laureate of the republican government's prize for achievements in the field of innovation. For the last ten years he has been engaged in potatoes, took part in the creation of varieties Zyryanets and Vychegodsky.
The scientist was awarded for his personal contribution to the development and implementation of the innovative project “New potato varieties adapted to the conditions of the Arctic.
Now Pavel Konkin is actively engaged in an unregistered, but promising variety under the code name Pechorsky. With proper care, these potatoes can be cultivated even beyond the Arctic Circle. In Inta, within two years, he gave a yield of 36 tons, without losing taste - it does not lag behind the southern zone. It was also tested in other cities - Dubna, Magadan, as well as in Iran and Poland. It will be tested and registered in the coming years.
