Spring sowing in 2020 was completed in 19 districts of the Novosibirsk region. Potatoes and vegetables are being planted at a fast pace, some of which are planted using the latest experimental technologies. Relevant work was shown to reporters on June 3 during a press tour on the farmland of ZAO SHP "Michurinets" in the Novosibirsk region.
According to the Minister of Agriculture of the region Yevgeny Leshchenko, thanks to the organized preparation for the spring field work and the prevailing agrometeorological conditions this year, the rate of spring sowing is significantly higher than in previous years. To date, in the Novosibirsk region completed spring sowing of agricultural crops in 19 districts. Spring sowing was carried out on an area of 1851,3 thousand ha, or 98% of the plan. The main food crop - wheat - sowed 956 thousand ha (98,8%).
Potatoes were planted in 17 districts of the region on an area of 2660 ha (87,6%). About 16 agricultural enterprises, 32 peasant (farmer) enterprises and individual entrepreneurs are engaged in the cultivation of this culture in the region. The largest areas of potato cultivation are located in Novosibirsk, Ordynsky and Moshkovsky districts. Potato production last year amounted to 299,4 thousand tons, which to a greater extent meets the needs of the region.
During the sowing campaign of this year, vegetables were sown in 13 districts of the region on an area of 464,3 hectares, or 61,4% of the projected area - 11 agricultural enterprises, 7 peasant (farm) enterprises and individual entrepreneurs are engaged in their cultivation. The main share of the gross harvest of vegetable crops falls on open ground. In 2019, the production of vegetables of protected and open ground amounted to 160,7 thousand tons (+16,6 thousand tons or 112% of the level of 2018).
“Vegetables are relevant for the region - self-sufficiency in vegetables is 44%. The task is to increase the production of vegetable crops. Currently, we fully meet our needs for the production of greenhouse vegetables - last year, greenhouse farms alone produced more than 42 thousand tons of such vegetables, which is almost twice as much as the production of open ground vegetables. Today we are focusing our attention on increasing the production of vegetables in open ground, ”emphasized the Minister of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region Yevgeny Leshchenko.
During a press tour to the farmland of the Michurinets agricultural enterprise in the Novosibirsk region, journalists got acquainted with the mechanized planting of vegetables and potatoes in the open field, as well as in greenhouse conditions, including the use of experimental cassette technologies for planting potatoes and other vegetables - in the form of seedlings. In addition, the work of the enterprise on the breeding of hybrids and varieties of Siberian vegetables was presented.
The Minister of Agriculture of the region Yevgeny Leshchenko emphasized that in order to provide farmers with financial support during the spring field work from the funds of the state program “Development of Agriculture and Regulation of Agricultural Products, Raw Materials and Food Markets in the Novosibirsk Region”, approved by the Government of the region, agricultural producers have already been listed 1,4, XNUMX billion rubles.

The total sown area in the region will increase by 36,5 thousand hectares compared to the previous year and amount to 2 million 260 thousand hectares. During the sowing campaign, it is planned to place spring crops on an area of 1 million 892 thousand hectares. Grain and leguminous plants will occupy 1 million 464 thousand hectares - it is in these crops that the largest increase in sown area is planned: 48 thousand hectares. The diversification of crop production will continue, with an increase in oilseed crops. Sown areas of vegetables and potatoes will remain at the level of last year.
In the sowing campaign - 2020, 1295 agricultural producers are participating. About 7,6 thousand tractors, 5,9 thousand seeders and 2,8 thousand cultivators were involved in spring field work in the region. Mineral fertilizers, fuels and lubricants, original and elite seeds are in sufficient quantities.
