According to the Department of Socio-Economic Development of the Village of Tomsk Region, on May 14, spring sowing is carried out in seven areas: Asinovsky, Pervomaisky, Zyryansky, Tomsky, Shegarsky, Kozhevnikovsky and Krivosheinsky.
The plan for sowing spring grain and leguminous crops to date has been completed by 26,8%, the first 41 564 hectares are sown. Along with this, farms are engaged in sowing annual and perennial grasses. High rates were recorded for rapeseed (8,4 thousand ha) and flax (547 ha).
Farmers continue to work on the application of mineral and organic fertilizers, closing moisture, harrowing perennial grasses and winter crops.
Vegetable farms finish sowing carrots. Began planting early potatoes and sowing beets.
The plan for sowing vegetables is 24,6% complete. Carrots are located on 118,1 hectares of the intended 158 hectares. Beets - on 6 hectares from 136 hectares.
As warm weather sets in, farmers will begin planting early cabbage in open ground.
