By the beginning of spring sowing, the region had prepared 13,9 thousand tons of seed potatoes and 12,55 thousand tons of grain seeds. This was reported by the press service of the government of the Leningrad region.
The area is provided with seed potatoes at 137% of the need. Almost 70% of this volume is made up of original and elite seeds, for the cultivation of which the region is one of the three major producers in Russia.
By spring sowing, the Leningrad Region was 100% provided with seeds of spring crops and 99% with seeds of perennial and annual grasses.
Now the enterprises are completing the sorting of seed potatoes and the finalization of seeds of cereals and perennial herbs - cleaning, sorting, drying, checking for germination.

2020 thousand hectares of winter grain crops were sown for the 9,109 crop in the Leningrad Region (101% by 2019), winter crops were plowed - 24,1 thousand hectares, 1 million tons of organic fertilizers were transported to the fields, 1,523 thousand tons of active mineral fertilizers (148% by 2019).
