According to the marketing agency ROIF Expert, the production of french fries in Russia increased to a record high of 480%. In value terms, the total volume of the Russian market for this product increased by 38%.
The sudden growth was influenced by the launch of the Lam Weston Belaya Dacha plant in the Lipetsk special economic zone. So, the Lipetsk region today is the leading producer of French fries among the regions of the Russian Federation.
The potato processing plant located in the economic zone is the largest French fries plant in Russia and was built by a joint venture between the Russian group of companies Belaya Dacha and Lamb Weston / Meijer, a world leader in potato products. Investments in the project amounted to almost nine billion rubles. 218 people were employed at the enterprise.
Against the background of the current situation, the export and import of French fries is also increasing. Note that since the beginning of this year, the volume of these products imported into the Russian Federation has decreased by almost half. In addition, the export of Russian French fries has grown almost 6 times. According to experts, the French fries market will grow in the near future, according to the Investment Portal of the Lipetsk Region.
