Nina Ivanova, Director of the Department of Scientific and Technological Policy and Education of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, told Parlamentskaya Gazeta about this. According to her, at the same time, the ministry is working on measures of state support for the development of the industry. And above all, they count on new tools to stimulate investors.
“The draft law (on agricultural products with improved characteristics. - Ed. Note) has been submitted to The State Duma... We are waiting for consideration in the first reading in March this year, ”Ivanova said. At a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management.
In her opinion, the adoption of the document will increase the availability of agricultural products with improved characteristics. And also to reduce the burden on the environment. The head of the department explained that we are talking about products in the production of which “there is a ban GMO, the use of chemical fertilizers with special environmental characteristics, limitation of the hazard category of pesticides. " Also, according to the document, a state register of producers of agricultural products, raw materials and food with improved characteristics should be created.
The Ministry of Agriculture expects that this market segment will be included in the methodological recommendations developed by the Ministry of Economic Development for the development of investment activities in the field of green financing in Russia. And they will also work out measures to support such investors in order to stimulate them to invest in this area, added Ivanova. Government support measures have already been planned.
