As a result of implementing the food safety doctrine, Russia provided itself with 99% grain, and 97% and 82% with potato and milk, said Olga Garshina, director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture during the Export Priority business forum.
“In 2010, the president signed the doctrine of food security, and already in 2016 we provided ourselves with grain by 99%, sugar - by 89%, vegetable oil - 84%, meat and meat products - 90%, potatoes - 97%, milk and dairy products - by 82%, ”said Garshina.
In 2016, agricultural production increased by 5%. The export of such products in 2016 amounted to $ 17 billion. The Ministry of Agriculture plans to increase this figure by 2020 to $ 21,4 billion.
