The Ministry of Agriculture estimates the export potential of the domestic agricultural industry at $ 20 billion. This was stated by the first deputy minister of agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov at the Tula festival of farm food "Svoe".
"The export potential of the agro-industrial complex of our country is $ 20 billion. And by 2023, this is such a big state task, which has been confirmed by farmers, we must reach $ 45 billion," the Deputy Minister of TASS quotes.
Over the six months of this year, according to the Russian Export Center, Russia exported food worth $ 10,3 billion. The growth compared to the same period last year amounted to 30,5 percent.
Farmers exported non-food agricultural products worth $ 413 million (+ 16,9 percent compared to January-June 2017). Khatuov believes that Russia can supply not only cereals, but also grinding products, sugar, vegetable oils, confectionery, and dairy products.
"The task of the state and regional authorities is to do everything so that the cost and prime cost of manufactured products exceed world analogues," he said, noting that it is necessary to work out in more detail measures of state support for farmers. 19 august 2018
