The area for growing vegetables in open ground in the Moscow region is planned to increase by 18% this year. This was announced by the acting Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region Sergei Voskresensky.
“The agricultural producers of the region plan to increase the area for sowing vegetables in open ground by 1,2 thousand hectares this year, that is, by 18% compared to last year. In total, the agrarians are planning to sow open field vegetables on an area of 7,6 thousand hectares, ”said Sergei Voskresensky.
He also added that the area allotted for oilseeds in the Moscow region this year will grow by 1,8 thousand hectares, or 5% compared to last year.
Earlier, Sergei Voskresensky reported that the total sown area of the Moscow Region in 2021 will grow by 46,5 thousand hectares and will reach 577,5 thousand hectares.
