The National Union of Agricultural Insurers has prepared step-by-step instructions for agricultural crops insurance for farmers.
The Union posted detailed instructions on insurance coverage of crops in the "Policyholder's Calendar" on a specialized website for agricultural producers www.naaiagro.ru.
“NSA reminds: you can insure the harvest on the terms of state support no later than 15 days after the end of the sowing of agricultural crops. According to the current insurance legislation, in order to receive state support in the amount of up to 50% of the cost of the policy, an agrarian must conclude an agricultural insurance agreement within a clearly defined time frame, ”comments the President of the National Insurance Agency Korney Bizhdov.
The instruction published by the NSA describes step by step the exact procedure for an agrarian when concluding an agricultural insurance contract, starting with the choice of agricultural crops to be insured and ending with paying an insurance premium and applying for a subsidy. It also contains links to standard document forms, recommendations for choosing an insurance company, a list of risks, calculating the insured amount and deductible.
“The NSA practice shows that one of the most frequent wishes expressed by farmers regarding agricultural insurance is to simplify the procedures and calculations required to conclude a contract and use insurance coverage,” explains Korney Bizhdov. - Within the framework of the agricultural insurance system with state support, insurance rules and forms of documents are standard and agreed upon by three departments. Therefore, in order to simplify the work of the farmer, the NSA will consistently algorithmize all standard processes and submit them as instructions and recommendations. The first experience of creating such instructions - scripts for the loss settlement procedure - was implemented by the NSA jointly with the Bank of Russia, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation in 2019-2020. According to Federal Law No. 260-F3 "On State Support in the Field of Agricultural Insurance", in Russia, within the framework of a centralized system, state support is provided for insurance of risks in crop production, livestock farming and commercial aquaculture. Since January 1, 2016, a single all-Russian association, the National Union of Agricultural Insurers, has been operating on the agricultural insurance market with state support. Only insurance companies-members of the union have the right to conclude insurance contracts with state support; insurance is carried out on the basis of uniform standard rules for each insurance program.
