Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Andre Kartens arrived in Zhambyl oblast to discuss common projects, Kazinform correspondent reports.
According to the press service of the akim of Zhambyl region, the Dutch company "Farm Frites Beheer" together with the local LLP "K-Agro Holding" plans to build a plant for the production of French fries in the Shu region. The project is estimated at $ 145 million. If implemented, 240 new jobs will be created. It is planned to commission the plant in 2023. The head of the region, Berdibek Saparbayev, during a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, assured that investors will be provided with full support. At the moment, the location of the future plant has already been indicated, the necessary infrastructure has been built. “The main task is to start construction faster. Time is running. We need an enterprise, its products will be exported, ”Berdibek Saparbayev noted. “The delay in construction is not profitable for us. I specially came to find out what questions there are. From your words I understand that we have the same goals, ”Andre Kartens replied. According to Zhenis Oserbay, advisor to the chairman of the board of directors of K-Agro Holding, before starting the construction of the plant, investors want to plant potatoes on 65 hectares and check the level of productivity. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Nurbek Daiyrbekov, who noted the prospects of the common project and stressed that it is possible to implement other projects with the Dutch side.
