Increasing the volume of application of mineral fertilizers is one of the key tasks for increasing yields and gross harvests of agricultural crops. Last year, agricultural producers purchased about 4,68 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers (by far), which is almost 20% higher than in 2020, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture reports.
This made it possible to raise the level of application to 55 kg per 1 ha of area on average throughout the country (in 2020 - 50 kg per 1 ha). The increased use has contributed to a good harvest of the main crops. Thus, the highest results in the entire history of the Russian agro-industrial complex have been achieved in the gross harvest of sunflower, soybeans, rapeseed, fruits and berries.
In 2021, despite a significant increase in prices for mineral fertilizers, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia took measures to provide farmers with this resource in a timely manner. A headquarters has been created to monitor its supplies, and a detailed acquisition plan has been prepared for the period from December 2021 to May 2022 inclusive. The department, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the FAS Russia, is working to resolve issues arising in this area.
