On September 28, a regular meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia was held with the participation of the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dzhambulat Khatuov. Chairman of the Council Sergey Korolev outlined the main topics of the meeting, including priority measures to support agricultural producers planned in the federal budget for 2018, as well as import regulation issues and circulation of chemical plant protection products on the territory of Russia.
“Thanks to unprecedented government support and investment stimulation of the agro-industrial complex, as well as the introduction of new mechanisms of state support, including a“ single subsidy ”and concessional lending to farmers, the industry demonstrates stable growth,” said Dzhambulat Khatuov.
The first deputy minister pointed out that thanks to the implementation of the mechanism of preferential loans to farmers, agricultural producers will be able to implement investment projects worth over 700 billion rubles. 50 greenhouse complexes with a total area of 650 hectares will be built, which will provide an additional 480 thousand tons of vegetables. Thus, domestic production of greenhouse vegetables will increase 1,5 times. The loans granted to farmers for 118 billion rubles will allow the implementation of projects for the construction of 90 dairy farms with a population of dairy herds of 100 thousand cows. Thanks to this, milk production will increase by 0,5 million tons. Approved loans worth 50 billion rubles are intended for peasant farms. A quarter of all approved loans accounted for agricultural machinery.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia Igor Kuzin recalled that this year the state allocated 242 billion rubles to support agriculture. The timely delivery of funds to agricultural producers made it possible to successfully carry out the harvesting campaign, which was marked by a record harvest. Members of the Public Council under the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia made proposals to improve the efficiency of the use of additional state support funds allocated by the Government of the agricultural sector.
