Tubers weighing 2,9 tons were infected with brown bacterial rot of potatoes
Vladivostok, IA Primorye 24. Specialists of the territorial administration of the Rosselkhoznadzor have prevented the possibility of selling infected Chinese young potatoes in Primorye. The disease detected in it - brown bacterial rot of potatoes - is a quarantine object for Russia and can cause significant harm to agriculture.
During the quarantine phytosanitary control of vegetable products coming to China from the Primorye Territory by the Rosselkhoznadzor Directorate for Primorsky Territory and the Sakhalin Region, infected young potatoes were detected in a consignment of vegetables weighing about 25 tons. Dangerous potatoes came from China to the temporary storage warehouse of LLC Poltava Terminal in the village of Poltavka, Oktyabrsky District, Primorsky Territory.
Tubers weighing 2,9 tons were infected with brown bacterial rot of potatoes. The presence of this disease is confirmed by the conclusion of the Primorsky branch of the All-Russian Plant Quarantine Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor.
Brown bacterial rot of potato is a quarantine object for Russia. It infects tubers and can destroy up to half the crop, both in the field and in storage. At the same time, the use of diseased potatoes as seed material leads to contamination of the land, and through it, subsequent plantings of tubers. The optimum temperature for the development of brown bacterial rot is 27 ° C, which is consistent with the conditions of Primorye.
Currently, the infected tubers, after cooking, went to feed the animals at one of the pig farms in the village of Borisovka in the Ussuriysky urban district.
According to the information of land supervision inspectors of the Ussuriisk department of the Rosselkhoznadzor Directorate for the Primorsky Territory, which includes almost all the main agricultural areas of the Primorsky Territory, such as Mikhailovsky, Khankaysky, Khorolsky, Oktyabrsky, Spassky, etc., young potatoes have not yet grown in most farms . The exceptions are only some farms that have already managed to grow young potatoes. But the mass of young potatoes in most agricultural producers has not yet grown.
However, in a number of cities and towns of the region, young potatoes under the guise of local potatoes are already being actively sold in markets and near roads. It is possible that this potato was imported from China for sale under the guise of a local one at a price several times higher than the cost of Chinese young potatoes.
