First Vice Governor - First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Region - Minister of Agriculture, Trade, Food and Processing Industry of the Orenburg Region Sergey Balykin took part in a videoconferencing meeting on the development of vegetable growing and potato growing in the Russian regions, increasing the availability and use of production stocks, which passed in the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
The main topic of the meeting was the prospects of increasing our own production of potatoes and vegetables for the period until 2025.
“In the Orenburg region in 2020 they plan to plant 8,9 thousand hectares of potatoes in all categories of farms, 6,4 thousand hectares will be sown with vegetables of open ground. There are plans to increase gross collection. So, by 2025 it is planned to increase potatoes from 32,4 thousand tons to 60 thousand tons per year, vegetables from 53,1 thousand tons to 70 thousand tons, ”said the First Vice Governor - First Deputy Prime Minister of the region - Minister of Agriculture, Trade, Food and Processing Industry Sergey Balykin.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation set the task for the regions - to provide local agricultural producers with a guaranteed sales system for fruits and vegetables. Therefore, we need a well-built logistics of not only production, but also the promotion of vegetable products in the country's retail chains.
