As explained in the Ministry of Agriculture, increasing the production of vegetables of the "borscht set" is one of the key tasks for ensuring the country's food security. On average, over the past 5 years, the harvest of open-ground vegetables in our country has consistently exceeded 5 million tons, and the record for production in winter greenhouses is updated annually. Despite difficult weather conditions, about 6,7 million tons of potatoes and about 6,8 million tons of vegetables were dug up in the organized sector last year. At the same time, the development potential of these sub-sectors, according to the department, is significantly higher.
