On September 22, Petr Chekmarev, Director of the Department of Plant Growing, Mechanization, Chemicalization and Plant Protection, took part in the VI industry business conference of the new season “Russian Crop Production - 2017/18. Crop production: technological momentum ”(the organizer of the conference is the journal“ Agroinvestor ”). Speaking about the state of the crop production industry in Russia, Pyotr Chekmarev emphasized state support for various agricultural sectors.
First of all, Pyotr Chekmarev expressed gratitude to agricultural producers who, despite the difficult conditions of the spring sowing, carried out field work efficiently and provided proper care to the sowed crops. Thanks to this, today the country has a high yield. “The current weather conditions and forecasts for the coming month inspire hope that the harvesting campaign will be completed with good results.
Also, the foundation for the next year’s harvest is being laid, active sowing of winter crops is in progress. The quality of this sowing also needs to be paid great attention to, ”said Pyotr Chekmarev. The positive dynamics of indicators of agricultural production is largely due to the high level of state support to farmers. Today, preferential loans and subsidies are received by investment projects aimed at the development of domestic agriculture, including the creation of breeding and seed centers, the construction and modernization of greenhouses.
Particular attention is paid today to the development of mushroom growing. “The mushroom industry has great prospects, niches within the domestic market are open to suppliers. In 2017, 6 investment projects for the construction of mushroom-growing complexes with a design capacity of over 30 thousand tons of mushrooms were selected. The total amount of approved soft loans for these projects is about 7 billion rubles, ”said Petr Chekmarev.
Speaking about agricultural subsidies, Pyotr Chekmarev mentioned the possibility of revising the state support for the flax industry. In particular, in response to a question about subsidizing this area, the director of the Department of Plant Growing, Mechanization, Chemicalization and Plant Protection emphasized that it was important to raise not only quantitative indicators, but also improve the quality of flax raw materials.
