First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan Sharip Sharipov got acquainted with the course of spring field work in the Kumtorkalinsky district, where he visited the SPK Uchkent and LLC Agroprime, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia reports.
Measures are being taken to expand the planting of open ground vegetables and potatoes. In particular, this year it is planned to sow vegetables in open ground on an area of about 43 thousand hectares, which is 2,5 thousand hectares more than last year. It is planned to plant potatoes on an area of 20 hectares, which is 1000 hectares more than last year.
SPK "Uchkent" has 200 hectares of arable land. Of these, 90 and 10 hectares are allocated for growing vegetables and potatoes, respectively. Plantings were made in February, however, due to the low temperatures of March, the plants are only now beginning to sprout. The rest of the area is planned to be sown with spring barley and other crops.
LLC "Agroprime" is one of the leaders in the republic in the production of open field vegetables and potatoes. The total planting area exceeds 140 hectares, located on the territory of the Kumtorkalinsky and Kizilyurtovsky districts. Modern technologies are used, all agricultural practices are mechanized, the head Gadzhi Zalumkhanov has extensive experience, including in the Volgograd region.
Commenting on the results of the trip, Sharip Sharipov noted that on April 5, a meeting of the Council for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex under the Head of the Republic of Dagestan was held, at which the head of the republic, Sergey Melikov, set the task: to take all necessary measures to mobilize the relevant forces and resources for the organized spring sowing and other spring field work .
“Particular emphasis is placed on increasing the areas under vegetables and potatoes, where the republic has good potential, primarily in the organized sector. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan has taken measures to stimulate sowing. In particular, the rates of "unbound support" have been increased, for vegetables the rate is 35 thousand rubles per hectare, for potatoes - 28 thousand rubles per hectare. The agrarians of the republic, taking into account the increased demand for vegetables, primarily borscht, responded, and we see that in 2022 the area under these crops will be more than in 2021.
A federal project for the development of vegetable growing has been launched, within the framework of which personal subsidiary plots also fall into the orbit of state support. And in Dagestan they are the main producers. This year we have to plant cabbage on an area of 13,5 thousand hectares, carrots - on 2200 hectares, onions - about 3000 hectares and table beets - about 1000 hectares. We know in the context of farms who are cultivating these crops. Seeds are available, the necessary measures to resolve emerging issues are provided in a timely manner,” the First Deputy Minister noted.
