The Moscow region is one of the three leaders in potato production. The region produced about 300 thousand tons of root crops. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
The leaders in vegetable production are Dmitrovsky, Kolomensky, Ozersky, Lukhovitsky and Stupinsky districts.
The Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region, Andrei Razin, noted that the agricultural organizations near Moscow produced 298,8 thousand tons of potatoes at the end of last year.
The second place in the collection of root crops by agricultural organizations was taken by the Tula region with a production volume of 368,5 thousand tons. On the first - the Bryansk region, where they received 574,7 thousand tons, the article says.
