In the village of Lukino, Serpukhov District, Ecofarm OGO-ROD develops farm production based on berries, nuts and fruits. The spouses want to turn the area of 3 hectares into a garden where they grow fruit and berry trees. One of the know-how of the farm is the production of Jerusalem artichoke syrup, which is of interest abroad.
“Now farmers are preparing the first small shipment of Jerusalem artichoke syrup to China for sale on one of the Internet sites. This is an example of how the Farmer's School project can help you start your own business and develop it successfully. The eco-farm project was developed by Natalia and Alexander Fedorov during their training. After graduating, the Fedorov family not only implemented their idea, but also continued to study: now the couple are pursuing higher education in crop production and agricultural technology,” said Georgy Filimonov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region, who is in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
A year and a half ago, Natalya and Alexander Fedorov quit their jobs and took up farming. During this time, we managed to lay a small garden and start manufacturing products from natural berries and fruits without the addition of preservatives, flavor enhancers, dyes.
This year, the couple plan to apply for an Agrostartup grant, and with the start of the season, they plan to sow the fields with environmentally friendly Jerusalem artichoke. So far, raw materials for this product are purchased from other farmers in the Serpukhov region.
“Jerusalem artichoke is not only a source of insulin, but also a key element in solving environmental problems. One hectare of forest is capable of absorbing 3-4 tons of carbon dioxide from the air per year, and one hectare of Jerusalem artichoke absorbs 6 tons,” says farmer Natalya Fedorova.
In 2022 alone, the farm sold more than 15 thousand units of various products. Among them are vinegars, compotes, marshmallows, marmalade, hand-kneaded halva. The range also includes not only Jerusalem artichoke syrup, but also raspberry, strawberry, currant, cherry, sea buckthorn.
In addition, the family also develops the direction of agrotourism. In the summer season, she holds events for children and their parents, where she tries to form the right idea about nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.
