According to the Institute of Economics of Agriculture and Food Industry of Poland (IERiG экспорт), the export of fresh vegetables in September 2019 amounted to 49,2 thousand tons worth 37,6 million euros.
Compared to September 2018, the export volume of fresh vegetables in September 2019 decreased by 10%. Exports of processed vegetables amounted to 58,4 thousand tons, amounting to 50,8 million euros. Compared to September 2018, the export volume of canned vegetables did not change, and its value increased by 10%. The volume of exports of mushrooms decreased by 15%, dried - by 5%, and frozen - by 2%. Export of canned vegetables increased by 10%, including sauerkraut by 14%, and pickled cucumbers by 5%.
In September 2019, 31,8 thousand tons of fresh vegetables were imported, i.e. 145% more than in September 2018. Import value amounted to 18,5 million euros, i.e. 36% more than in September 2018. Imports of onions grew by 371%, carrots by 292%, tomatoes by 43% and sweet pepper by 61%. Import of pickles increased by 67%, frozen vegetables by 37%, and canned foods by 16%, including canned corn (by 3%) and tomato concentrate (by 5%).
