Almost 4 thousand hectares of farmland were flooded in Primorye as a result of the passage of the cyclone "Bavi". Soybeans, potatoes and vegetables have suffered from heavy rains. The special commissions continue to calculate the damage.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Primorsky Territory, soybeans suffered the most in the Khanka and Pogranichny municipal districts.
“According to preliminary data, the rains have flooded nearly 4 thousand hectares of soybeans, as well as 90 hectares of potatoes and vegetables in Lesozavodsk. Special commissions continue to assess the damage. The insured agricultural producers will receive compensation, ”Minister Andrei Bronts emphasized.
According to Primgidromet, in the coming days the region will be under the influence of typhoon Maysak. Rains and strong winds are expected, which could break the corn.
We add that the Primorsky Territory is in the zone of risky farming, the reason for the constant precipitation is the monsoon climate, so farmers are advised to insure crops in order to minimize risks in case of emergency.
