According to the information system of the Rosselkhoznadzor "Argus-Fito", in 2021 the CIS countries increased the supply of potatoes and vegetables "borscht set" to Russia. Thus, the volume of imports of potatoes increased 2,6 times, carrots - by 14%, beets - by 17%.
Potato
The main countries supplying this crop to our country in 2021 are Belarus (98,3 thousand tons), Azerbaijan (84,7 thousand tons) and Armenia (28,9 thousand tons). At the same time, Belarus has increased the supply of potatoes to Russia by 10,7 times compared to last year, Armenia - by 71,1 times, Azerbaijan - by 1,2 times. In general, supplies of root crops increased 2,6 times - from 82 thousand tons (in 2020) to 214,8 thousand tons.
Carrots
The main exporting countries are Belarus (65,4 thousand tons), Kyrgyzstan (12,7 thousand tons), Kazakhstan (6,6 thousand tons). Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan supply this vegetable in much smaller quantities. Moldova started importing carrots only this year, but the volume of deliveries already exceeds 1 tons.
The total volume of carrots imported to Russia from the CIS countries increased by 14% (from 78,9 thousand tons to 90,3 thousand tons). At the same time, Belarus increased supplies by 9,6%, Kyrgyzstan - by 43,3%, Kazakhstan - by 19,1%, Uzbekistan - by 16,8%.
Beetroot
The leading supplier of beets to our country is Belarus, in 2021 it sent 12,5 thousand tons of products to Russia (17,9% more than in 2020). Also on the shelves of Russian stores there are beets from Kazakhstan (delivered 1,2 thousand tons) and Uzbekistan (2,4 thousand tons).
Taking into account all the data, the export of beets to Russia from the CIS countries increased by 17,1% (from 14,8 thousand tons to 17,3 thousand tons).
