The Kaliningrad region is located in a zone of excessive moisture, it accounts for 23% of all drained and 70% of polder lands in Russia, not only the development of agricultural production, but also the safety of residents depends on the functioning and technical condition of the reclamation system.
In 2021, it is planned to spend a total of 606 million rubles from the federal and regional budgets for land reclamation in the region. Reclamation works will allow to ensure land drainage on an area of 40 thousand hectares.
At the expense of federal funds, nine pumping stations are being reconstructed, and flood control measures are being implemented at another nine stations and 178 kilometers of canals and dams. By the end of the year, Kaliningradmelioratsia will repair 120 km of canals, overhaul and re-equip three pumping stations for a total of 113 million rubles.
